An appreciation of Nigel West

We are all at Rossendale deeply saddened to hear that Nigel passed  away on Tuesday 24th January.

Nigel has been involved with Rossendale for 25 years, 15 of which had been as a Trustee,until his resignation in 2011 due to health reasons. He made a huge contribution in many ways and will be particularly remembered for his work in steering the Trust through the planning process which enabled the Trust to develop Riverside and Rose Gardens.

His quiet diplomacy was always evident and he was able to guide Rossendale through many difficult negotiations with our funding sponsors.

The Trustees were able to make a presentation to Nigel at the Rossendale New Beginnings in July 2011 in appreciation of his immense contribution to the Trust.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathy go to his wife Julie and her family at this time.
