Past Events
Rossendale Summer Fete 2008 - Despite the lack of summer sun this year, the weather decided it would shine for our annual summer fete. We had some fantastic attractions with the highlights being the Urquart Pipe Band, K-9 dog display team and Music from Ray Pickens.
It was unfortunate that our President Sir Nick Winterton was unable to officiate but we were fortunate enough to have the Deputy Major, Cllr Alift Harewood, who opened the proceedings at 1o’clock. We were also paid a visit by local Radio station Canelside which provided the Fete with non-stop entertainment throughout the afternoon.
The fete really looked the part this year with everything undercover in large marquees and a roped off entertainment area. People had great fun with the many stalls and games on offer and they also had the opportunity to look at our future hopes with new plans for the Hall.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank the Oakwood team for their sterling work with setting up, all the people who volunteered and helped man the many stalls and games and most of all the people who came to support us on the day. All this effort resulted in the Fete raising nearly £3,000 which is truly a tremendous effort and testament to the great support which the Trust receives.

Concert with the Silk Brass Band - This event was very well attended and raised around £1,000 each for both Rossendale Trust and Silk Brass. Several residents from both the Hall and Woodlands went to listen to the concert and are now looking forward to hearing the band again at their Christmas concert. Holidays/Outings
Residents have been enjoying the summer weather and have been on several day trips and holidays. These include holidays to Portmadog, Norfolk and Skegness, and with day trips to Chester Zoo, the Cheshire Show, and a special Bollin Valley Countrypark taster day held in Macclesfield's Riverside Park.
